CALIMA

Calima Collection
April 2018

A beach, now empty, keeps its sand wet and the sea rough. It is
the apparent calm after the storm. Remnants of
haze Suspended sand brought from distant places that accelerates the fall
of the sun.
On the shore there is a woman. His loneliness is the excuse to feel the
wind like he had forgotten he could. He is not afraid that it will rain again.
Only the roar of the waves disturbs his siesta on the light earth. Now come back
to remember the moist smell of the sea. He dreams of what he should never have ignored: the
certainty of being from this place.

The Calima collection has been made entirely by hand by artisans
of the raffia An almost unknown job that fears extinction in our country.
Knowledge of manual extraction, dyeing and embroidery techniques is
inherited from mothers to daughters. For this reason, it is increasingly difficult to find
those who master this skill.
Only in the braiding of each design more than 20 hours are invested.
Gold, burgundy and black are added to the naturalness of undyed raffia.
A reduced color palette of four colors to shape a
collection where the most iconic models of the firm stand out in their
more authentic versions.
