From the skill of the craftsman's hands to transform a simple metallic object into a delicate piece of jewelry, the artisanal technique of damascening is kept alive.
With the same love for detail and leisurely pace of the old masters in
Damascus, from where it took its name, is carved today in the world capital of this technique: Toledo.
This craft took root in the Castilian-La Mancha province at the end of the 19th century,
hand in hand with the heirs of the Basque Eusebio Zuloaga. He was the one who rediscovered this technique, then almost disappeared, in an armor of damascene origin and applied it to his creations, once again putting it in value in Spain.
In it, gold and iron melt into one when, by immersing the carved piece in a
caustic solution and be heated to very high temperatures, the steel turns
dark and the noble metal maintains its shine.
In our continuous search for traditional techniques of our country, we have
found this centennial way of creation, practically unique in the world. With it, we have conceived the "Botania Collection", made up of an original
earrings design and our new personalized necklace. Combine the different pendants (circles, rhombuses, crosses and ovals with initials) in the way
that you prefer to create the necklace that you like the most.
Each of our damascened pieces is guaranteed to be made
with 24 karat yellow gold and 18 fifths green gold, with a minimum of 3
micron thick embedded. In them, different designs of
Renaissance inspiration, with flowers, birds and other natural elements.
